Collin could feel his heart pounding. Sweat was dripping down his face, both from nerves and his constant running. He was racing through the forest, listening to the alarm of the prison grow fainter behind him. Occisdite encouraged him, motivating him to keep going until he would pass out. He needed to stay close to the other. If they were caught, he could sacrifice him and get away according to Occidite. And he had to listen to his friend. Why wouldn't he trust him? It got a little iffy when Occidite told him to kill, but they patched things up quickly. He wouldn't have known he was going to get caught.

The sound of sirens behind only encouraged a tall white haired boy to puh himself forward. He raced alon through the woods alongside one of his cellmates, making a break for it was probably one of the best things they'd ever done. Lex's body waa adorned with the classic orange tunic and pants, if they had any hope of escaping, they'd need to shed those, but for the time being, it would be a waste of time to stop and pull them off now.

When the sounds faded to nothing and he was sure that they had managed to escape the search team that had been following them, Collin slowed himself down until he was fully stopped. His brown hair fell into him eyes and he leaned against one the trees for support, his breath coming out in ragged pants. "Oh god," he mumbled.

"You okay?" Lex asked the man next to him, glancing at his shaking body. He himself was out of breath also, not really having any athletic training at all. He was hunched over, his hands on his knees as he tried to catch his breath. After a few moments of silence, he looked up, realizing the severity of their situation. They'd escaped from jail, they were in the middle of no where, the cops were on high alert for them, and he was in the middle of the woods at night with a convict that he knew next to nothing about.

Collin's head snapped up to look at him, eyes widened as if he hadn't realized he had been running with him the whole time. "What?" he said unconsciously before the question processed in his brain, the gears shifting into motion once more. "Oh... of course." He tried to keep the sarcasm out of his tone as he muttered mostly to himself, "Why wouldn't I be." He stood straighter, not bothering to ask him if he was alright as well. They didn't have time. "C'mon." He started through the woods at a much slower pace.

Lex wasn't about to correct this guys manners, but he was all he had at the moment. He trailed behind the brown haired guy, trying to stay as quiet and swift as he could. He continued onwards, his eyes quickly adjusting to the various lighting of the forest. He wanted to ask where they were going, but at the same time he didn't want to be annoying, but, then again, he really wanted to know. "Where are we going?" he finally voiced quietly, walking next to the other escapee.

Collin turned his head and went to say something, snapping it shut a moment later. He had never thought about going anywhere in particular, just following his instincts of trying to get away. A river, genius. Collin realized how logical Occidite was sounding. A water source would help, and wading through in would erase their smell so they couldn't be tracked. "A river," he stated after a few moments like it was the most obvious thing ever.

Lex nodded, walking a few paces before realizing how brilliant the plan seemed. He wanted to know more about the other guy, but he knew now wasn't the time to ask questions. Also, he seemed a little hostile. But, on the brightside, he'd at least put up a good fight if they ran into any trouble.

Collin, upon seeing the murky water in the distance, quickened his pace until he waded into the shallows. The water soaking into his jeans was uncomfortable, but he knew to ignore it and continue their route. Making a sharp right, he followed alongside of it.
